With the f/1.2 aperture, there are increased creative possibilities, working with depth of field to get the precise effect you want to move your story on. Focus breathing is suppressed and manual linear focus control puts you in charge.
Perfectly balanced for lifelike detail
The optics in the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S are designed to render texture in stunning, realistic ways. One ED aspherical lens and three ED lenses reduce aberrations and colour fringing to make the most lifelike images possible. Add in the MESO Amorphous, Nano Crystal and ARNEO coatings, which greatly reduce ghosting and flare, and you have a lens that depicts images with incredible realism.
Beautiful, natural bokeh
The lens configuration in the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S creates beautiful bokeh, with a smooth gradation from the focal plane. It won’t blow the background completely, so your audience can still get a sense of your subject’s environment, and two-line bokeh is also reduced. The bokeh characteristics of the lens are the same as the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S and NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S, allowing you to change lenses and ensure consistency.
Fast, accurate AF
Even with the slimmest focal plane when wide open, the AF on the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S locks on and the multiple drive units constantly work together to keep your subject in tight focus.
Part of the classic prime trinity
The NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S joins the NIKKOR Z 50mm f/1.2 S and NIKKOR Z 85mm f/1.2 S as an ultimate trinity of classic primes for pro photographers. All three display the same optical characteristics for consistency across stills projects and video, while also all taking the same 82mm filters.

With its sturdy build and excellent dust and drip resistance, the NIKKOR Z 35mm f/1.2 S is ready for any environment. Two L-fn buttons are positioned to allow for quick settings changes in either horizontal or vertical mode.
